Review: Pretty nice - I purchased to complete a beach theme in an office. First thing, this fan is pretty nice. I love the dark wood color and it's very windy-does the job well. There's no light to interfere with switches either. The pull chain is a good length too. I added a decorative one to replace the one included. There are three settings so you can change the airflow. Also, it reverses for the winter months if you want to help circulate your heat. I keep on the low setting, and it really helps circulate when the air conditioning is on. No noise or wobbling and it's actually very pretty. Not a bad fan at all and well worth the price which is not expensive at all compared to other sellers.

**Q: How long is the cord? Or do you have to have remote?**
A: No cord; it's connected to electrical source in the ceiling.  It is made so you could cord it. No remote comes with this model.

**Q: Does it have to be mounted to a joist to prevent damage to ceiling or wobble from fan?**
A: You must mount the fan to a solid base. You cannot just screw it into the ceiling drywall.

**Q: Can a shorter downrod be used?**
A: Yes I believe a shorter one could be used

**Q: can you add a light kit**
A: Yes thee is an option to add a light if you don't have a light there is a plate that covers those wires
