We had a pre-inflated waffle cushion from a hospital stay so we knew how it was supposed to feel. It's very easy to overinflate--the hospital one felt like it was underinflated, but it worked a LOT better (relieved the pressure and pain better). So if it doesn't feel like it's comfortable, try letting some air out!
