Probably not as cheap as getting the original carts, but it's time saving and space saving. The best part is the mini cart sleeve that comes with this in addition to the outer box. It's a neat 'perk' that's great for display instead of the original box taking up so much space. Plus, there's a full color manual which doesn't look cheap- definitely better than the manuals Atari was putting out at the end of their run 40 years ago. The quality of this cart is excellent and the games play perfectly on my original hardware.
