Happy Sugar wins on all scores. I have purchased twice and it arrived on time on both occasions. The second was a gift & the vendor included a personal message.I love cooking & eating. Happy Sugar adds a smokey twist to family favourites such as apple crumble & sticky toffee pudding.I only make puds, cakes or biscuits once or twice a month, so the little Kilner-like Weck jar keeps the Happy Sugar in an airtight attractive container & stores it hygienically (away from the ants!) until it is needed. Depending on the ambient temperature my Jaggery went through a series of states: crumbly, a more sludgy “friendly” crumble & even treacle like, so it was v reassuring to have it in a glass jar! The flavour was unaffected by the state it was in and all states mixed well with other ingredients. When I queried the change in state with the vendors I was delighted to hear that this is a sign of it’s authenticity. More commercial brands cut their Jaggery with cane sugar to keep it as separate granules. So if your Jaggery sticks together when warm that is a good sign.I fully applaud the ethical buying, transporting & packaging of this product (100% biodegradable or reusable). It is unusual for importers to go to such trouble. Happy Sugar enables us to purchase goods traded fairly, to keep our carbon footprint down and our plastic waste zero.But it has yet another very useful property: it is a sweet little gift to someone who has everything! We can all use a little sugar. Happy Sugar is gorgeous to look at and hold. The wax seal is a particularly lovely touch.Anyone unwrapping this gift will beam & feel your sweet love! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pure Natural Sri Lankan Kithul Jaggery *by A***L on 8 May 2018* Not to be confused with the Indian version of Jaggery which is basically cane sugar in disguise.The Kithul Jaggery is produced from the sap of the Fishtail Palm Tree, producing a syrup and processed in a traditional Sri Lankan way ( no commercial practices here).In a way I suppose you can look at producing “Pure Maple Syrup” in the tapping into a tree, no additives just the natural pure product.It’s a rich earthy almost molasses scent to it with the flavour a gorgeous smooth deep caramel with possibly a hint of vanilla undertone. (No vanilla added).What I like about this product, besides obviously the product is that is ethnically source, produced and the thought process behind everything from down to the personalised note included, low GI (being diabetic) and flexibility of being used in both sweet and savoury dishes. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Delicious and makes you happy knowing that it is responsibly sourced and the profits ... *by A***R on 21 May 2018* Absolutely lovely!
