It needs to scan consistently and have the scan rate be adjustable. Both are features i have seen on even cheaper radios, so it's ridiculous that this one can't do it. Also, it doesn't even turn off. You have to remove the batteries to turn it off... Do not buy any kit from this seller that includes a "spirit box"!

The ghost hunting box is just a radio. It doesn't scan very well. The digital recorder works great it picks up sounds across the room. The EMF reader works well however it picks up your cell phone if you get them close to each other.
