This tray is very secure even though I have a very large unusually shaped tub. The tray seems to meet every conceivable need I might have. The only drawback is that my phone will not fit into the little tray with the OtterBox case on it. It will almost squeeze in but just not quite. This didn't really matter to me as I use my Kindle to read, not my phone. There are plenty of secure places to put the phone if you just want it nearby.
