These are great rods and an okay reel. I do recommend that if you are getting these for a trip or more than a day trip that you go to the far bank website and purchase and extra tip end as insurance for your trip. I've used the 8wt for silver salmon and they hold up well. I also have a 5 wt for trout and it has been a solid setup. The line glides smoothy within the guides without any bumps.The main highlight of this combo is the style. Most fly rods/reels tends to be boring colors. This combo looks cool without compromising on the traditional fly rod feeling.Like other reviews pointed out, yes the reel is made of plastic. But this makes is way easier to maintain. Relatively maintenance free. Can be soaked in water without issues. Zero rusting.The case is solid and robust quality.
