There weren’t enough loops to make it either larger to wrap again or small enough to not fall off. It did have a very slight smell if I put my nose right up to it, but that was it (leather always does). Good instructions are included if you want to get rid of the smell. I wore it all day outside at a renaissance faire in 80 degree weather and didn't notice a smell at all (of course, at a ren faire, there was the smell of horses and camels, so maybe that was more overpowering than the bracelet). Even after when I went for dinner at a restaurant not at the ren faire, I still didn't notice a smell.
