Battery life good but not as long as claimed. Slow to wake up and leads you through too many screens before you get to your music but that is a minor annoyance. Although I don't use it the player offers Aptx HD bluetooth which is a nice thing to have.Edit. I checked the manual and noticed I had kept the screen on during play. Because of this the battery life was only around half of the 20 hours promised. I have now switched this to sleep after 15 seconds and the player now lasts almost the 20 hours which is excellent battery life. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Funky looking, sounds great but limited functionality *by R***D on 23 March 2021* Bought this as a first foray into the audiophile world. Once you've got the correct drivers installed, firmware updated, additional apps loaded (I wanted spotify), it works great and drives a pair of decent studio headphones perfectly. In DAC mode with a PC, once you find the correct sound quality settings to minimise lag between screen and audio, it's a great addition for gaming or watching movies on your PC. Since the drivers are ASIO it pairs nicely with DAW software for studio quality beatmaking. Battery life is fine etc. This model does actually have wifi which can be enabled via 3rd party apps however since it was never designed to be used, it's so shielded and interfered with by the other electronics, it probably needs some kind of modding to make it as effective as the bluetooth, which does work well and can be used to provide internet to the device.The screen is actually really nice and a bit wasted with the stock selection of apps. Adding 3rd party players with visualisation capabilities really makes the design pop and look cool as well as sound cool. 3rd party apps can be a little unresponsive in terms of Ui response, which is a bit of a pain. Also haven't found a way to bypass the EU volume lock although I suspect there are 3rd party EQs you could use to get a bit more volume out of it. On max it's fine for me I just want it a little louder sometimes.All in all for the money it's a great buy if you know what you're getting into and can mitigate it's flaws with nerdy skill and knowhow. If you can't then maybe look at the higher models which are supposed to have wifi etc, at the expense of battery life. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best sounding DAP at this price point *by K***R on 24 September 2018* I have a few FIIO DAPs, X3 ii and X3iii and this one ticks all the boxes. Good solid interface, looks twice its price, can go quite loud and above all has great sound. I've tried it with some hi Res flac: Deftones koi no yokan and it can handle a lot of the detail and texture, Norah Jones come away with me and the depth and timbre are excellent. Even with power hungry DSD tracks like thriller and take Five by David Brubeck and the ambiance is startling. The only downside is the player takes a while to load and the music app also takes its time but when it gets going it keeps going with a battery life that puts most phones to shame.
