I did adjust the tension on the knob that sets the bread measurement. It will move while you are slicing, as it is when you receive. it's really simple to tighten. After tightening it slightly, it stays in place. The suction cups will keep it in place as long as your surface and the suction cups are clean, if either are dirty it will slip. It's well made, light but sturdy, no plastic parts. The blades are sharp. They cut through the bread nicely no matter the stage in the breads life. It came with a tool to adjust and remove the parts which was nice. I am happy with my purchase.
