I now have two of these speakers, and they have way exceeded my expectations! Very loud so you are surrounded by the music, plenty of "thunk" in the bass, a nice warm sound, and clear highs so you can actually hear the lyrics. (I got this by setting the internal equalizer to "flat" and the treble to -10, but there are lots of other options.) They are not ideal as studio monitors because they aren't that clear in the mid-range, but for a party or club setting IMO you would have to spend 3 to 4 times the money to get something noticeably better.
