It is well made with strong mitered corners, glass insert, and attractive semi gloss frame and profile. In addition it is easy to fit the picture/poster in place. The quality and care taken in the packaging was really impressive...strapped inner cardboard tray held the frame securely within the heavy strapped outer carton. This will survive any carrier short of being run over by a truck. Excellent value for the price and apparently made in the USA. I was purchasing quite a few of them for a collage on my wall. So I didn't want anything that looked cheap. This looks quite nice but buying 12 of them didn't break the bank. The cover is a polycarbonate plastic, not glass. If that makes a difference to anyone. It did not make a difference to me. The corners had a nice snug fit as well, which is usually where you can identify a very cheap frame. I used this frame to frame a print I bought from an artist at a pop culture convention. It fits 11x17 photos perfectly! What I didn't like: In order to open the back to put the photo in, you have to bend out these small metal prongs. I just used the tip of a spoon to bend them up. However, this is pretty minor if you plan on keeping the artwork in the frame for a long time. I wouldn't recommend if you will be constantly changing the photo.
