A: Yes, I used it with Monterrey and both Audacity and GarageBand. It works with both, but GarageBand makes transferring MP3s to the Music app easier than Audacity.

A: No, that input is used to play another audio source through your Aiwa. If you're looking to digitize old cassette tapes, the DigitNow does have a 1/8 audio plug. This can be plugged into the headphone jack on your Aiwa (depending on the headphone jack, you may need a 1/8 to 1/4" adapter) to transfer your music to your computer. You will need to keep the volume somewhat low, so the sound doesn't become distorted.
