It just does that for no reason what so ever. We have over 1000 of these phones. They are a nightmare. It is the Cisco ip phone 7962. We always have to wiggle it to make the hand set work. We simply always use speaker phone. Buttons fade away. Then they gave us a sticker that faded and peeled. Sometimes the screen goes blank and we have to wait until it decides to come back on. Very hard to use. Don’t even think about ordering the expansion unit. That will work wonders for a while and then cause the whole phone to cut out. We are constantly rushing these phones to locations where a 7962 stopped working. Also if you take a phone to use at a different location the phone number and caller I’d goes with it. Stay away.
