For a first timer like me it was very easy to replace and you can use your old screws to save time on cutting the new ones. The spindle supplied with it is long (as usual) but all you need to do is cut to the desired length with a hacksaw. The lift to lock feature feels sturdy and it all works perfectly after taking about 30-40 minutes.
