Review: Technology Leap Over Apple Air Tag - Most EXCELLENT! - I do read negative reviews. I thought enough good reviews made it worthwhile to try, so I ordered two Clip 5 Tags and Clip 5 Wallet to see how they work compared to Apple Air Tag with my iPhone. My Wallet Clip 5 delivery is out to mid-December (boo hiss). I just ordered four more Clip 5 Tags to replace the rest of my Air Tags. Listen up Apple: this is a technology jump over Air Tag. If I have problems, I will do an update. So far, so good. I figured if the negative reviews were accurate and I encountered problems, I'd just return and stick with Air Tags. Here we go: 1) Instructions that came with the Clip 5 Tag need to be redone. I did a Grok, and the installation was way better. If you order the Clip 5, do a Grok (good for iPhone and Android) and save yourself some time. Stupid FAST once I did Grok. Scanning the QR Tag was a waste, I think just to capture your email. It did me no good - as Mel Brooks said in "Spaceballs" - "MERCHANDIZING!" 2) I haven't tried distance yet, right now I have the two on charge overnight to make sure I'm "locked and loaded." I'll add a note in my iPhone's calendar to charge every 6-8 months. I did have Air Tag batteries that died, and I had no idea they were drained. Apple, you need to address this. Also, I had an Air Tag that died (I had no idea it was dead) that was like 13-14 months old. Apple's warranty is 12 months. Apple's response, "So sad, so sorry." Not cool. 3) Clip 5 is my first Pebblebee product: WAY louder than Air Tag - excellent. Even got my dogs' attention. Apple, get a clue. 4) Clip 5 has lights to show when the battery charge is getting too drained. EXCELLENT. Air Tag - you have no idea how drained the battery is, until you try to locate something and there is no soft sound. Apple, get a clue. 5) RECHARGEABLE! YEAH!!! The claim is 18 months. Doing a charge every 6-8 months won't hurt. No longer need to use the CR2032 coin batteries that can't be recharged. Apple, get a clue. 6) I didn't need to buy an Air Tag holder so I could attach this signaling device to my key ring, duh - additional expense. Apple is good at this. Spend $1,100 on an iPhone and you still need to buy a $15 drop protection silicon case. Apple is champion at "nickel and diming" you. Apple, get a clue. 7) The Clip 5 Tag came with a nice quality key ring - perfect size that holds my car fob, house key and my dogs' chip info. Nice. BTW, guess what Apple doesn't include....Apple, get a clue. I will praise Apple for allowing the "Find My" app to find non-Apple stuff. Seriously, good job Apple, I didn't have to install a Pebblebee app. Excellent Apple! My only Apple device is an iPhone 17 Pro deal that Verizon just ran that was LITERALLY PRICELESS to upgrade my 13 Pro to keep me on Verizon for 3 more years. I've been with Verizon since I was an engineer/architect at MCI so I'm at 27/28 years with VZ with no complaints as I traveled nationwide a lot for work and dog shows. I do like Apple products, well the iPhone (7, 13 and now 17), however, Air Tag needs a new generation with a BIG update - get a CLUE APPLE. The Clip 5 could easily blow the Air Tag away unless Apple giddies-up. Once you buy into a product like a remote signaling device, you will probably stick with it until a big tech leap comes out. The Clip 5 did it for me. You can see I don't update my cell phone very often.
Review: Annoyingly Practically Useless Tracker - I purchased 2 x Clip 5's to track my 2 cats back in December 2025 for around $26 each. I did not purchase the live tracking subscription as it's stated everywhere that these trackers should be able to work without it. They worked great for about a day and haven't worked correctly since. They worked pretty consistently as trackers for my phone. I'd just double press the Clip and it'd ring my phone. Unfortunately this isn't what I bought them for. I can't tell if it's a problem with the Clip or with Google Find My Hub but Find My quickly lost connection within a few hours, maybe less. I'd factory reset them, delete them from the Pebblebee and Find My app, clear my Find My cache, reboot my phone, and set them up all over again just to have to do it again within the next day or 2. I got a new phone recently, a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL, and was excited to see if this would resolve my issues. Immediately the same problem. I reached out to Pebbeblee through desertcart several weeks ago, they told me to reach out to them through an email I believe. All they told me was that Find My had released an update 2 days ago then (a few weeks ago) and to factory reset the Clips and start over. Well now it's been several weeks since I did that, it didn't work. I set them up on my new phone yesterday. Today: can't connect on Find My Hub. Cleared the Find My cache, double checked permissions, rebooted my phone, tried adding the Pebblebee just to trigger the prompt to press the Clip twice if I was having Find My connection issues. Nothing. This is the same problem as always. I will hopefully be returning them in about 2 weeks. In the meantime I'll test them on my mom's iPhone 17 Pro Max. Maybe it'll worked on Apple's network. Though I'll still likely return them if that's the case because the entire rest of the household only has Androids and it clearly doesn't work reliably on Android.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Clear Winner Compared to Other Bluetooth Trackers!
*by J***S on June 16, 2026*

I've tried several tracking devices, and so far, the Pebblebee Clip 5 has been the clear winner for my needs. One of the biggest advantages is that it uses a rechargeable battery instead of a disposable coin cell. Battery life has been excellent, and I don't have to worry about constantly buying replacement batteries. I primarily use it to keep track of important items, and it has performed very well. I also tested it during an e-bike trip and compared it to another Bluetooth tracker, the ISOOCO tracker, on my keychain and the Peeblebee on the e-bike. The Pebblebee stayed updated much more accurately and consistently, while the competing tracker hooked to my keys lagged far behind and often showed an older location. I have included screenshots from my testing. Another feature I really like is the ability to locate my phone. By pressing the button on the Pebblebee twice, it will ring my phone even when I can't remember where I left it. There is a short delay of about 10 seconds before the phone starts ringing, but it has worked reliably every time I've used it. Another feature that I like includes, if you press the tracker multiple times, it will send a message to contacts you set up and it will give them your location, and the tracker will start beeping loudly and flash its light. The competitor tracker has no SOS function like this. And if you misplace the Pebblebee tracker itself, while on your keychain? Not a problem. This is the Pebblebees purpose. Just open Google Find Hub on your phone, choose the Pebblebee device, and tap "Play Sound". The sound is nice and loud. Unlike the other device I tested that only gives out a pitiful little beep, requiring to be in a totally quiet room in order to hear it. Pebblebees sound sticks out like a sore thumb in even a noisy room. Setup was straightforward, the app experience has been good, and the tracker gives me peace of mind for keeping track of my belongings. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. If you're looking for a rechargeable Bluetooth tracker that actually performs well in real-world use, I highly recommend the Pebblebee Clip.
