The wheels have two smaller wheels underneath to move and there’s a charging port to the back of the robot with a on off switch. The remote has batteries and a on off switch as well. My grandson wanted a remote control robot so bad, which is unusually hard to find. It works pretty well in solid surfaces but even the smallest nap carpet makes it pretty much useless. It doesn't drive straight but provides hours of entertainment. It's goes at a good speed for a 5 year old and is easy enough to control. There are some decorative buttons on the control that do nothing. Purchased this one and received a discount which was great. Was smaller than we imagined but he still likes it and it makes cute noises. It's very cute and my kid loved it.
