A: Yes. Do leave room for cooling if you run them hot.

A: They are sold as pure resistive.

**Q: Can I use this with a banana plug?  If so, how should I connect it?**
A: Yes....or a good quality 1/4" guitar plug. You need to use good quality speaker cable too and not a shielded guitar cable which is too light...

**Q: What is the length of these?  Need to know the size for heat sink mounting.**

I've got one of these bolted to the metal frame of my workbench and routinely use it while biasing guitar amps and measuring their RMS output. It never gets more than just very slightly warm. I just drilled and tapped two holes on the frame for the bolts and mounted it without any heatsink compound. I like that it has built-in leads, which makes for a clean installation and leaves no exposed connections to accidentally get shorted out.
