Romantic, funny, spicy, and crazy wedding chaos

*by B***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2022*

When Franchesa imagined helping her best friend, Pru get ready for her wedding, she thought she’d just be dealing with the obnoxious, rich, high society people that were the majority of the wedding party, and deal with Mr. Serious a.k.a. Rude man known as, Aiden Kilbourn, but… turns out not everything goes according to plan… especially when the groom get kidnapped the night before the wedding!!!When I first read the synopsis of, “The Worst Best Man”, and it mentioned the groom getting kidnapped, my mind instantly imagined some type of crazy shenanigans created by the groomsmen, but turns out I was wrong. Right away, this story was adventurous, hilarious, and had a little bit of the mystery element in trying to figure out why Chip was taken, what did Aiden have to do with it, and how were Frankie and Aiden going to get Chip back?!Lucy did a wonderful job setting the stage for this story, and immediately I loved Frankie! She was a total spit fire, and she never backed down, especially against the likes of Aiden Kilbourn. Aiden and Frankie got off on the wrong foot, due to Aiden saying things about Frankie in an unflattering way. Regardless of their bumpy start, Aiden slowly but surely (more like denying the truth) that he became intrigued by Frankie. I would say, Aiden fell into the, “guy falls for girl first” trope such as, Aiden making an excuse to pickup Frankie from the airport, wanting to spend alone time with her, and not to mention wanting to get his hands all over her! OMG!This story was fun and had me following along on Frankie and Aiden’s wild goose chase. At moments, I forgot I was at home reading and felt transported to Barbados, and running around the island with Frankie and Aiden. Even after the craziness that ensued in Barbados, Frankie and Aiden’s story went deeper and they both had to work on themselves in order to be together. I loved seeing the individual growth in Frankie and Aiden because, after reflecting on their choices and themselves, they made active moves in order to better themselves. The character growth was great.Despite Frankie trying to resist Aiden’s lust filled gaze and wandering hands, Frankie and Aiden were slowly building an attraction to each other that they couldn’t help. Among the budding romance and spicy encounters, I loved how Frankie was straight forward, “take charge” kind of woman, and basically laid down the law. One of my favorite quote was when Frankie said, “I’m not a ‘submit to the alpha’ kind of girl. I’m a ‘kick him in the *Bleep bad word* and take what I want’ woman.” Frankie knew what she was dealing with when it came to Aiden and she showed him exactly just how much control she had over him. Going back to the whole, “him falling for her first”, Aiden was determined to be with Frankie, albeit in the beginning he didn’t believe in long term relationship, but over time (fairly quickly in my opinion) spending time with Frankie had him reconsidering. Not to mention, Aiden being a rich man, used it and his connections in order to please our darling Frankie such as, buying her a brand new coat over seeing the one she had was old, oh and did I forget to mention it was a designer brand coat?! Aiden had no shame in using his money. When it came to Frankie, Aiden was not only all over her, but wanted to give her everything.Aiden and Frankie brought out the best in each other and I loved how they didn’t hold back, especially Aiden being so blunt about how he wanted Frankie, ended up telling her sweet things he couldn’t help, but blurt out haha. This story started off in a way I wasn’t expecting, but it enjoyable and seeing how Aiden and Frankie come together was just as fun and exciting to read. As the story progressed, the romance, spice, and emotional connection between Frankie and Aiden grew stronger, and I LOVED IT! Also the epilogue was pretty romantic and very in tune with how Aiden and Frankie are as a couple. I’m so happy having read another wonderful book by Lucy Score!

brilliantly written Great characters Laugh out loud funny

Frankie is working on her MBA and working three jobs to be able to be in her best friends wedding without her friend paying for her. Her friend Pru, her roommate from college, is who is old money rich is having an extravagant island wedding. Frankie is determined to be the best Bridesmaid ever and make sure the wedding is everything Pru wants it to be. With a best man who insulted her before they even met and three bridesmaids from hell it is nearly impossible but she manages to pull it off.Aiden is a billionaire who is all business. His fathers multiple wives turned him off on the subject of marriage or a committed realtionship. He didn't intend for Frankie to hear what he said about her and works very hard to make it up since they are going to have to work together and he feels the same about his friend Chip as she does Pru.Jackie has a quick wit and often is able to make a comeback when the bridesmaids insult her without causing a problem. I wish I could be like her! Aiden pursues Frankie for a fling but she keeps turning him down. There is a lot of action and they both go above and beyond to pull this off. Parts of this are laugh out loud funny. Some are sad because of the people who feel she is beneath them.I enjoyed Aiden and Frankie .Secondary characters add much to the story. Frankie,s family are quite intertaining especially her brothers. I enjoyed this book more than any I have read in a long time. I recommend it. It kept my attention - I couldn't put it down.

    New fave KU romance author

*by P***N on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2023*

Lucy Score is my new favorite Kindle unlimited romance author. She has a wonderful knack for combining humor and angst in a way that has you falling in love with her characters. I’ve read a few of her books and I’ve enjoyed every one of them. She has created moments that had me fighting back tears as well as moments that made me *actually* laugh out loud. She’s great with the steamy scenes that are actually titillating, and don’t leave you wanting more. I mean, it’s not PRN but she knows how to season her books for some spice ;-)One of my least favorite aspects of the majority of the KU romance novels out there is the alternating first person POV. It just doesn’t flow smoothly when reading, and I can’t kelp but think it feels amateurish as a writing style for a published book… acceptable for a fan fiction but not so for printed works. At least stick with a single character POV if you *must* write in first person (pardon my personal rant.) So far, from what I’ve read, Lucy seems to prefer writing in third person, which I prefer hands-down.As for this book specifically, I loved the fiery personality of Frankie and the banter between her and Aiden. The entire chain of events in the first part of the story in Barbados was pure gold. And the book is a lovely length for granting a bit of character development. Give this book and Lucy Score a try, I don’t think you will regret it.
