I am not sure if there is a DSP chip. Bluetooth pairs flawlessly. No tape tested. I don't have any. I am only using it for streaming audiobooks. It offers 5 ways to listen to music. Read the description. I am 55 years old and remember these players at most electronic stores in the early to mid 1980s. If you are my age, you will understand how it sounds!
