    An excellent review of current ecotherapy research and theory

I am currently conducting a literature review for my dissertation focused on outdoor occupational therapy services for children, and after reading this book from the library, I am going to buy it to keep as a reference.  It is an excellent review of the history of the development of ecopsychology and ecotherapy, including theoretical foundations of ecotherapy practice.  I was pleased to find that occupational therapists are mentioned in the book more than once (always in context of work with adults) and found that much of the content was directly applicable to any health professional's practice in the outdoors with clients.  It is well-written, very theoretical for the most part rather than giving practical suggestions to implement in therapy sessions, but this is what I expected.  Health professionals need to understand the theory behind WHY we do what we do, and this book does that for any eco therapist.
