I'm looking for a 100% unit** A: Despite the description, the plates and knife are not stainless. Mine immediately began rusting after I washed them and didn't hand dry them. Bizarre because on LEM's website, they only sell stainless steel plates and knifes replacements. **Q: How quickly does this rust if at all?** A: The body must be a very low-grade of stainless steel, it shows small amounts of rust if I let it air-dry after washing. The cutting blade will start to show rust almost instantly post-wash. The die plates seem pretty resistant. hand wash, hand-dry, hit with some oil to prevent rust. **Q: Where is the unit made?** A: There seems to be no country of origin on the grinder itself. I checked the operating directions. Nothing there, either. It's probably on the packing but that's long-gone. IOW I do not know where it was manufactured. Sorry ... **Q: How wide will the clamp to secure it to a table top open. Could you give me the measurement, ie, 1-1/2", 2" , etc.** A: It opens to a hair more than 1-1/4". If that is too narrow for your countertop, you can do what I do. I clamp it onto a piece of 3/4" plywood. I lay a towel under the plywood, between it and the countertops and use speed clamps to secure the plywood to the counter tops. The LEM #10 effortlessly processed everything we put ... *by J***N on October 15, 2014* The LEM #10 is the standard by which manual grinders should be judged. I tried it out by grinding 5 pounds of boned chicken thighs, 5 pounds of lean pork shoulder, 6 large apples, and 2 pounds of beef fat. The grinding was effortless. Cleanup was quick. I then used the included stuffer attachment to turn out 24 chicken/apple sausages. Stuffing sausages takes so little effort our three year old was able to turn the handle. Cost per sausage was under .50 and they are every bit as tasty as store bought ones costing twice as much. The pork and beef was rapidly processed into italian sausage and kielbasa. Again the price per link averaged under .50 and the quality was great. The LEM #10 effortlessly processed everything we put through it. The stainless body and impeller (the impeller is listed as cast iron on some websites, mine is stainless) make cleanup quick and easy. A tiny bottle brush makes scrubbing the holes on the grinder plates a snap. About 3 hours after receiving the grinder we had a freezer jammed full of premium sausage and the grinder drying in the dish rack.
