However I bought it in September 2019 and now it doesn't work 4 months later. It might just be the tubes that have gone I am not a tube expert. They light up and the sound has lost all bass. Sound is fine if i remove it from the chain. So it is definitely this unit that is not working properly. If it is just the tubes I am still disappointed as they haven't played for that many hours.If I send it back they will say it is the tubes and my fault. On the other hand I dont want to buy replacement tubes at £50 odd if it is faulty.Shame i liked it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not what I expected *by D***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2018* Looking to impart 'tube warmth' to a system which was a bit bright and 'forward' sounding I bought this rather than splash out on an expensive tube amplifier. The built in tubes did not sound great so I got a pair of Electro Harmonix tubes on the recommendation of other reviewers. The sound certainly changed and improved in several ways - more bass, very open soundstage, everything sounded larger in scale. But while less forward, the treble was even more pronounced. I thought about buying some different tubes but when I realized that a further upgrade would cost over £100 extra I decided to return the item. It is well made and I think may offer genuine improvements depending on the ancillaries.
