## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do all the buttons work in OS X? (Primarily the side buttons) I don't care about drivers, just as long as the buttons function.**
A: The primary buttons work as expected (top left, right, and center click), and the scroll wheel works as expected. In addition, there are two buttons on the right side arranged front to rear, which can be programmed for a variety of functions using System Preferences in Mac OS X. I do not use the side buttons, but I discovered that I could use them for things like Mission Control, Application Windows, Show Desktop, or Show Dashboard.

**Q: For left handlers?**
A: Yes, I own and use 2 - one on my desktop where I play WOW and one on my laptop where it functions as a regular mouse. If you search on Amazon for 'Razer Deathadder', you will find various titles: Razer Deathadder Black 3500 High Precision 3.5G Infrared Gaming Mouse, Razer DeathAdder - Gaming Mouse Left Hand Edition and more. It's all the same mouse. The title of the page varies dependent on which selection it decided you wanted and how you worded your search. Don't worry about it. The important things is that right below where it says "In Stock", there will be a line that says 'style'. It's here where you can choose 'left-hand edition'. If you do that and there are no screw ups, you'll get a left handed version of this mouse. Note, this will be the previous model. When I checked inorder to answer you, I saw there is a 2013 edition. I chose left hand edition, I went to the left hand previous model. I don't know if there is a left hand version of the 2013 version. We would have to call Razer. The left hand version is simplistic as I stated in my review if compared to right handed gaming mice. But it's a good mouse and it's left handed. Please contact me again if I can help further.

**Q: Is it the 2013 edition?**
A: As of my purchase in 2018, this is now called the DeathAdder Expert although it looks and feels exactly like the 2013 edition I used to have -- in case anyone is looking at these questions now and wondering.

**Q: Can you turn off both the mouse wheel light and the logo light?**
A: As far as I've found, you can use the annoying software to turn off the lights. I haven't tried this yet, but maybe you could take it apart and remove/destroy the LEDs, or cover the logo with hockey tape.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Razer Mouse = Best Mouse
*by N***O on October 23, 2014*

Since 2000, I've owned eight Razer gaming mice. I've played around with most of their other models and their competitors over the years. This *new* version of the DeathAdder is by far the best mouse I've ever used. And that's saying something because I already own two older model DeathAdders. I keep one at work, one at home for my desktop, and this new one is for my new laptop.I regret nothing.First, let's go over my ownership history because I'm sure some of you are curious why I keep buying Razer mice. I mean, eight(!) mice since 2000? That's at least a new mouse every two years. Seems kind of crazy, right? Well, it's not. If you're into gaming, are accident-prone, or have more than one computer, it starts to look like a pretty reasonable number. So, starting with the newer purchases, let's see how each has fared:- Razer DeathAdder (2+ years, still alive and works awesome)- Razer DeathAdder (4+ years, still alive and works awesome)- Razer Lachesis (2+ years, dead---spilled a lot of beer on it)- Razer Copperhead (4+ years, dead---lived a happy life)- Razer Krait (3+ years, dead---dog destroyed it)- Razer Diamondback (1+ year, dead---lived a short life)- Razer Boomslang (14+ years, cherished)Just looking at that list, I hope you'll believe me when I say: This is the best mouse. It's not the most expensive Razer mouse I've ever owned (Lachesis) or the most revolutionary (Boomslang), but it's by far the best. Here's why:- Build quality. Aside from my cherished Boomslang (which I don't use daily), it's been with me the longest as my daily driver.- Price. I may buy a lot of mice, but I don't want to pay Lachesis prices every time. This mouse fits neatly into my pricepoint.- Feel. It's not too light or heavy, it's just right. I love those little slick little feet on the mouse too---they glide over everything.- Design. I can palm a basketball, so I generally prefer the slightly larger Lachesis or Boomslang, but the DeathAdder is a great fingertip mouse for me that sits perfectly in my waiting hand. It feels natural at every moment. So, I love my old DeathAdders, but then they made it even better in this new model. The rubberized sidegrips are a huge help, the revised mousewheel has more subtle lighting, and overall this iteration just seems a hair more refined than my older models. I could rave about this mouse all day long.Stop reading this review. Buy this mouse. You will be happy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It's always a Razer
*by K***R on March 29, 2013*

Six years ago I was given, for free, a Razer Diamondback mouse. I would *never* have purchased one on my own. $70 for a MOUSE?!? What were these people smoking?!? But free... free is a price I can get behind! To explain the usage this poor mouse was inflicted, I work in games. So I am constantly on my computer, constantly using programs like 3DS Max, Photoshop, and game editors. Then I would go home and play games on my pc with this mouse. (That's right, I carted the poor thing back and forth to work... for 4 years until I got a Steele Series mouse for free, lol.) I also use two monitors, so having the sensitivity jacked up allows me to move my cursor quickly from one end to the other of my desktop.Recently, my poor little Diamondback got a tad... squeaky. 6 years of what I can only describe as punishing torture for the mouse and he was finally starting to complain. I ordered a new computer for home and decided to finally spring for a really good mouse and keyboard. I chose the DeathAdder for my mouse. Not too many buttons, but a few extra.Like I said, I was very impressed with Razer's products in the past (I had a keyboard and two headsets from them as well, from the same person who hooked me up with the mouse.)I got my DeathAdder in and immediately plugged it in, even though I was still at work. This mouse is AMAZING. Even among Razer products, it's better than the others.Pros-- A matte finish. You can't tell in the pictures very well, but the 2013 version has a slightly matte finish, which actually makes the mouse feel amazing. And after hours of playing in a slightly warm room, my hand and fingers don't slip. It's wonderful.- Smooth mice "feet". Those little bits that are supposed to help the mouse slide better? The ones on here are perfect. I don't think I would have noticed the difference, if I hadn't tried it immediately after using my old mouse at work. But these are so much better than even my recent SS mouse. Moving my cursor across 2 desktops is effortless.- Buttons. The top buttons are the standard amazing Razer design. The thumb ones are great. I really like that they are actually fairly hard to accidentally press, while still being easy enough to hit for gaming.- Wheel. For anyone that uses a mouse wheel, you know how hit or miss these can be. Razer has perfected it as far as I am concerned. It's got dents in the wheel that make it super easy to "grip" with a finger pad, and the motion is nice and mechanical so you scroll in discrete steps.I know I listed pros, but I really don't have any cons. I want to change the color of the light. I wish the cord was a tad longer (though I could see if I had a better pc placement why this would be annoying, lol). But these are nitpicks. So not only do I recommend this mouse, but I also decided to suck it up and buy a second one for work. My poor little Diamondback can rest, while the DeathAdders get to WORK!
