I have a number of cases for my s5 and this is my favorite. I think the price is good for what you are getting. First, the bad. I think the case is a little slippery. Not so much that I have dropped the phone, but it has slipped a little before I caught it. I don't think it is a deal breaker, I would definitely buy this case again....but it could cause problems if I had really dry hands. Also, I'm not completely sure of the drop protection. I have read about the air corners and how they disperse impact. I have yet to drop the phone, so I cannot comment on that. I will say that it feels really good and sturdy in the hand..and that is how i will transition to the Positives of the case The Good. It does feel good in the hand, very solid and well made. I am not concerned at all about dropping it...I think it will survive just fine. All the cutouts are fine, and the buttons on the sides are easy to press. It takes a little getting used to the fact that they are not raised up at all from the sides. I was a little concerned about that when I bought the case, but now I really like the feel. The headphone cut out is quite big and fits all the miniplugs and headphones I have thrown at it. The lip around the screen is fine, and raised up enough to protect the screen. All in all, I really like the case...it feels great in the hand and I love the gunmetal color and feel. To me, it almost looks and feels like real metal. I came from the otterbox commuter case and I like this so much better. Why? I like the look, much more stylish. I like the feel, feels more solid and well made. I like the price, quite a bit cheaper then otterbox. I like that I don't have to open a flap to put my headphones in. I just like it better. Having said all that, I think the otterbox is a good case and has its place. That being said, my new s5 will stay in the Spigen Tough Armor until I find something better....I'm always on the lookout for a new better case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great case *by T***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2014* I wanted a case that was rugged enough to protect my phone, without adding too much bulk. I purchased the gunmetal version of this case and my first impression was looks. It doesn’t look like a cheap $20 case, it looks closer to a $50+ case…which is nice. It fits snug on the phone and has a nice bumper to protect the screen if you drop the phone on it’s face. I still have a ghost armor cover on the front for extra protection.The edges of the case are matte black which add a bit more grip than the gunmetal backing. I’ll admit the case felt too slippery at first and I didn’t like it. The S5 has a pretty grippy surface without a case and I really liked that. If you want to maintain that grip, get the smooth black version of this case. It will eliminate that problem altogether. Honestly I got used to the slippery surface pretty quickly and it doesn’t bother me at all. It just changed the way I grip the phone when holding it. I really like the way the case looks and the rugged feel.The mechanical buttons on the side are great. They feel more sturdy than the buttons on the phone with no case. I can reach into my pocket at the gym and change the volume of music with ease, because I can easily feel the side buttons without looking.The heart sensor works great for me. I don’t understand all the negative reviews about that. I almost think people are trolling because I see people getting rated down if they don’t have problems with it. The case does not obstruct the heart sensor at all. I have large hands, and I have used it many times since adding the case without a single problem. That problem is simply “user error”.The case has indents for headphones and the charger cover. The charger cover is a bit harder to access (since I have trimmed nails) but I can still get it. I have headphones at work with an “L” shaped connector and the case doesn’t obstruct them at all.If you want a good quality, nice looking, and low cost case, this case is perfect. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Not perfect, but pretty nice overall. *by S***R on Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2014* I chose this case because it got good reviews and it was not too bulky. I wanted something that would protect my phone but not be too big for my pants pocket. This case seems to fit the bill. It doesn't increase the size of the phone too much and is smooth enough it doesn't snag on my clothing going in and out. It is professional looking, which was also a consideration. The only drawbacks I have seen so far are 1) the charge port on the S5 has a hatch on it that must be pried open. This case makes it hard to open because you can't get your fingertips in there easily. I have to use my fingernail on my pinky or I can't do it. 2) The tactile feedback on the buttons is poor. You can actuate the buttons (power, volume) okay, but you can't feel if they were pressed. Maybe they will start to break in over time. I do like the the fact that they don't stick out so they don't get snagged on anything. 3) The little strip of material that covers above the charge port on the front side is a little weak. I'm not really worried about it, but it just doesn't fit with the tight and robust feel of the rest of the case. When you reach into a narrow pocket and pull out the phone, sometimes that part is what you can grab and it just seems too flexible and weak.Overall, though, I do like it a lot and the cost is reasonable. Have not tested the drop protection yet, so we will see.I use this case in conjunction with a tempered glass screen saver, which I highly recommend.
