It kept my hot cup of coffee warm to the last drop. You can't start with a cold or Lukewarm drink and expect the warmer to make it hot. My only complaint is I wish the red light that indicates the warmer is on waws a little brighter. Yes, I did have the scratching on the warmer, which if you are using a ceramic mug, it will cause scratching over time. The only reason I'm replacing now is I dropped my phone on the warmer (it was turned off) and it cracked the outer casing, so I'm replacing out of an abundance of caution.
