Review: Better than a memory stick. - I use this to bring Life back into a 2016 MacBook Pro after the internal SSD had given up the ghost. I managed to install macOS onto this external USB SSD and it works flawlessly.. I attempted to do the same thing with a real SSD and SSD to USB connector but any time it moved the machine crashed. This is not the case with this product. I now have a fully working Mac that I can use in my workshop and I’m not bothered about getting it grubby. I ran some tests on the speed of transfer and it is as advertised. You can basically use this to install an entire computer make the drive bootable and carry your computer in your pocket! My only regret is that I should’ve bought a bigger one.

I use this to bring Life back into a 2016 MacBook Pro after the internal SSD had given up the ghost. I managed to install macOS onto this external USB SSD and it works flawlessly.. I attempted to do the same thing with a real SSD and SSD to USB connector but any time it moved the machine crashed. This is not the case with this product. I now have a fully working Mac that I can use in my workshop and I’m not bothered about getting it grubby. I ran some tests on the speed of transfer and it is as advertised. You can basically use this to install an entire computer make the drive bootable and carry your computer in your pocket! My only regret is that I should’ve bought a bigger one.
