They are thinner than some other insoles that I've tried, but they still have a good amount of cushioning in the heel. They also have a nice soft support pad in the arch. I prefer soft arch support compared to the hard arches in SuperFeet insoles, since the hard insoles don't match up well with the shape of my arches. 3/4 style insoles have little cushioning in the ball and front of the foot, so these aren't great for runners who land on the front of your foot. On the other hand, less cushioning in the front makes these fit better in very snug shoes. I'm not a fan of insoles that are supposed to fit a wide range of foot sizes, but I wear size 9 shoes (near the lower end of the size range for these) and I was able to trim these down to fit my shoes pretty easily.
