    Great bit of Kit

*by K***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2013*

I ordered this product back in 2012 and have used it since. The actual Rip 60 - as has been stated time and time again the rotational ability of this device is a fantastic feature and it will challenge you as much as you want to be challenged!!Like the TRX i love the way you can eek out every last ounce of power you have left by changing the angle if suspension - when you standing straight up and can barely heave you own body weight forwards - you know you have worked hard.the only down side to using at home rather than the gym is that unless you install a roof mount you can get directly below it. I am fortunate in that i have a spiral staircase i attach it to which minimizes that problem somewhat - but as it is only a MINOR personal issue . problem i have which could be easily fixed if i wasn't renting! The dvds - all arrived in plastic box which was damaged - some of the dvd's like to skip a little which is annoying.I agree with some of the comments that they are a little cheesy, however if you stick to them you will notice results in all round fitness - I was fit before i started and was fitter after the DVD'sIf you are new to suspension training or not, I would still recommend at least watching the DVDs for Ideas - as its very easy to adopt an "i know what im doing" attitude and you may be missing out on the full potential of the System1 thing that is worth a mention is that partway through the dvds i cant remember which week, they introduce the RIP 60 kettle bell (which is an adjustable plate kettle bell) - which is quite clearly not included. it is introduced part way though a workout so if you don't have one ready it can catch you out. IMO you dont necessarily need a kettle bell as all the movement can be done with standard dumbells - just ensure they are locked up tight!!The nutrition plan i threw in the bin.all in good product, well made and fun to use.

Brilliant. Great for novices and fitness fanatics alike

*by M***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 October 2013*

I fall into the novice category. 40 yr old female, skinny, not exercised regularly for a couple of years and very little muscle tone, I purchased this on a recommendation to firm up those bits that are sagging and build some strength and it's doing just that.I am using the DVDs and they are not a joke at all. As someone who isn't used to gym classes, I found the instructions easy to follow, Jeremy Strom I think is excellent contrary to another posting, as he doesn't patronise, he gives clear instructions and encouragement, and personally I find him very likable. (NB the fireman comment is the only cheesy one in 240 minutes so far - this is the problem with other reviewers fast forwarding through...). The exercises are varied (some hard mixed in with some nice) and all of a 60 second duration which keeps me interested. If like me you find it easy to give up on hard exercises it's easier to keep going as 60 seconds is just a short time to get through. The beauty of RIP60 in addition to the rotation turning the muscle is that if you are struggling with a particular exercise you can adjust your position to make it slightly easier, but you keep on moving and exercising the relevant muscle according to your capability. You can just build up as you go along, so no feeling demoralised from the off. The flip side if you are already strong and fit is that you can adjust your position to make it harder. You don't have to work out for an hour 5 days a week every week. 3 of the 8 weeks are 4 days a week and one week is only 3 days. (It is designed to be a fast results programme so you couldn't expect to do much less and get ripped in 8 weeks). I only did 5 straight days for the first week, and even then I did not do all of the exercises all the time. Plus once you know the warm up and warm down routines you can do them quicker. Given that I didn't do all of the exercises in week 1 (I wimped out of the odd cardio one) I could honestly see a difference on my stomach muscles at the end of week one (i.e. I have some!). Yes I'm skinny so it's easy to see but it proves the point that the exercises work. After 3 weeks my husband is telling me that I look great, i feel my posture has improved and this is me not always doing all of the exercises, and certainly not 5 times a week.Dont be put off by comments that it's all high intensity cardio, it's not at all. The short nature of the exercises tells you that it can't be. Yes there are some that get the heart rate going a bit, but given that I hate high intensity cardio if that were the case I wouldn't be sat here typing. There's plenty of upper body work thrown in.All in all, this is something I've stuck at for the first time in years and feel like it's something I can incorporate into my life going forward. A great piece of kit whether you are super fit or not. Highly recommended.

    Rip:60 - Initial thoughts

*by T***T on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 January 2013*

I ordered the Rip:60 from Dallan Trading on 05 Jan, it arrived on 09 Jan and initial impressions are that it is a very high quality product. I haven't started the 60 day programme yet, but have done some basic workouts with is secured to both a door frame and an 'Easy+ Wall Hook by Amazonas' (vastly cheaper than other fixings and rock solid) screwed to an outside wall.I will endeavour to come back to this review to update it once I have completed the 60 days, or at least made expensive use of the product. I have written this initial thoughts review though to allay some fears of 'dodgy equipment' and general build quality as this concerned me when deciding whether or not to buy.My small criticisms would be that the item smells pretty bad, I think it is something to do with a treatment/lubricant on the metal parts so is probably a good thing in some ways, but it smells so needs storing away from main living areas. The other criticism the lack of smartphone/tablet app to support the product and replace the workout DVD's. It is 2013 and this sort of thing should be standard by now.If you want a suspension trainer this is a good option, and at around 35% the price of the TRX equivalent you would be crazy to spend the extra money, in my opinion.
