It needs to 'dig' into the pipe plastic and MDPE is a bit more flexible compared to CPVC. **Q: Does this come with the inserts?** A: Not sure what you mean by inserts? They include the usual pieces: a short tube section sitting inside the compression fitting which you insert the pipe into, and a small plastic ring-shaped piece (dunno the name, sorry) that goes on to the pipe. If you mean those long, tubular inserts that go inside the pipe, no. I wouldn't recommend this brand, couldn't get them to work with HDPE pipes, leaked like crazy, despite re-tightening. Returned all mine for refund. Might've been me, as first time using them, but had no trouble with other brand. Could find no instructions or help online for these. Recommend Costwise compression fittings.
