The light is great and is super bright and good for a distance out to 100m in my opinion. The strobe mode is great for a self defense scenario. I would recommend this light for mechanics any day. I like to compare it to the stream light wedge. You get life time warranty with the stream light. Good battery life with both lights the stream light is thinner the the night core so more compact. The stream light takes the win for ease of use. When I have people the edc 29 they struggle to use it.
