You can easily connect four USB devices and share these among four different machines using just a single USB port for each computer. The size is fine; it's even smaller than some USB hubs that I have used. I don't have any use for the remote control, and I am not sure that it works all that well from trying it out. My experience with the power boost was not positive (the unit became non-functional a couple of times when I used it), but the unit seems to work fine without additional power.
