The main character is an Egyptian police detective who tries to remain fair and human in an a web of corruption and abuse while trying to solve the murder cases involving cabaret singers and a pimp where the perpetrators were high government officials who hired killers to eliminate witnesses and paid bribes for protection by ranking security officials. All of this took place during the Tahrir Square protests and the eventual ousting of Egypt's long standing president, Hosni Mubarak. The Amazon Prime streaming version of this film has clear and adjustable subtitles that are not difficult to read. One needs to pay close attention to the dialogue and perhaps see the film a second time to identify the complex unfolding of murder, silencing of witnesses and cover up that make up the plot of this film. This is very well acted and maintains the viewers' attention without resorting to sensationalism and hype.
