For use with any 24 volt AC irrigation timer/controller. A unique reverse-flow design helps prevent flooding in the event of internal diaphragm failure keeping the valve closed and saving water. This valve can be used with all types of watering devices including Rain Bird spray heads, rotors, and impacts. My old unit measures 2.5" (center-to-center) apart.** A: Center to center is 4.5 inches, inside edge to inside edge of the plastic is 2.75 inches. If you do not have a cooper theft problem in your area and are willing to pony up, then I would suggest the Campion anti-siphon brass valves; they are about 60 bucks each; they work really well. The automatic ones are not sold on amazon, but on champions irrigation site(and other websites). Personally, I am disappointed with Rain Bird for producing low quality consumer products. The commercial rain bird anti-siphon are better built(grey valve with black top), but I doubt they are as good as they were 15 years ago. todays rainbird is not your grandparents rainbird. **Q: Will this work with an Orbit 27894 timer?** A: The Orbit 57894 timer should work Rain Bird JTV075-ASV 3/4-In. valves. As far as I know the voltages used to activate the on/off selenoids on sprinkler valves are "standardized" and almost any brand timer will work. Check mfg specs to see what valve/selenoid voltages operate at. **Q: My old unit does not have an electric solenoid. They have since gone out of business. Their parts were great quality, but time came where simple repairs to the valve were no longer enough to keep them leak-free and working. These Rain Bird valves are very similar to them, and they replaced the Rain Jet valves without any need to change the spacing of the inlet and outlet lines. I wouldn't be surprised if these lasted 20 years as well. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works fine but if you have water hammering in the 3/4 inch size valve go to the 1-inch size. *by P***I on Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2018* I bought 4 of these for my irrigation system. 2 worked really well for my other half of the irrigation system. The other 2 caused water hammering in the house when they open and close. It might have been something with the design of the irrigation pipes in the ground. I tried lowering water pressure and that helped about 20%; I tried one of the Sioux Chief Mini-rester and that helped another 20%. In the end what I did to solve the problem was to get the 1-inch size and use that with the 1-inch to 3/4 inch adapter. That solved it. My theory was that the 3/4 inch valve was too small and caused alot of backpressure in the system resulting in hammering.
