Wer über den klassischen OBD-II-Port hinaus arbeiten möchte und insbesondere Zugriff auf CAN-B oder andere Fahrzeug-CANs benötigt, wird mit diesem Board sofort Ergebnisse erzielen. In meinem Projekt ging es gezielt darum, den CAN-B mit 83,3 kbit/s auszulesen. Der Abgriff erfolgte bei einem Mercedes X164 direkt am REAR SAM, ein Bereich, der aufgrund der Architektur des Fahrzeugs sonst häufig problematisch für externe Shields ist. Konfigurierbarkeit und Geschwindigkeit Die Einstellung der Datenrate gestaltete sich völlig unkompliziert. Die gewünschte Geschwindigkeit von 83,3 kbit/s ließ sich problemlos konfigurieren, ohne dass der Bus instabil wurde oder Frames verloren gingen. Das Shield unterstützt sowohl Standard- als auch Extended-Frames und kann daher flexibel an verschiedensten CAN-Netzen eingesetzt werden. Mithören (Listen-Only) Besonders beeindruckend ist die saubere Umsetzung des LISTENONLY_MODE. Anders als bei vielen anderen Boards, bei denen der passive Modus nur rudimentär funktioniert und teilweise aktiv in den Bus eingreift, verarbeitet dieses Shield die CAN-Signale vollständig passiv, zuverlässig und ohne Störungen. Das Mitlesen von Frames, auch bei hoher Busauslastung, erfolgt präzise und reproduzierbar. Integration und Terminierung Die Integration in bestehende Fahrzeugelektronik ist ebenso unkompliziert. Die Terminierung des Shields kann bequem per Schalter ein- und ausgeschaltet werden, sodass Anpassungen an unterschiedliche Bus-Topologien ohne zusätzliche Hardware möglich sind. Diese Flexibilität erleichtert die Arbeit insbesondere an Fahrzeugen mit sensiblen CAN-Bussen oder komplexen Netzwerkarchitekturen. Signalverarbeitung und Stabilität Die Signalverarbeitung ist bemerkenswert stabil. Selbst ein Hotplug am laufenden CAN-Bus des Autos wurde problemlos verkraftet – ein Test, bei dem viele andere Shields sofort Störungen erzeugen oder den Bus kurzzeitig blockieren. Praxiserfahrung In den letzten Tagen habe ich mehrere andere CANBUS-Shields getestet, bei denen ständig Störungen oder Limitierungen auftraten. Dieses Board jedoch lief von Beginn an einwandfrei. Der erste Test erfolgte unter Windows, anschließend kam es im Produktivbetrieb unter Linux zum Einsatz – ohne einen einzigen Fehler oder Abbruch. Fazit Wer ein CANBUS-Shield sucht, das zuverlässig, flexibel und professionell arbeitet, insbesondere abseits des OBD-II-Ports, der findet hier ein Board, das in allen getesteten Aspekten überzeugt: Geschwindigkeit, Signalqualität, Listen-Only-Modus, Terminierung, Hotplug-Fähigkeit und Betriebssystem-Kompatibilität.
