They are well worth it for us even with XR+ having a saver option as the only selectable video quality and no use of the microphones. I installed one at our gate which is 532’ from our house where the sync module is plugged in and one at our barn which is 295’ away through a lot of trees. They were super easy to install. There is a XR option that allows standard HD video quality but ours had to be on the XR+ option to connect at the distance I placed them but they still show 2 bars of connectivity to the sync module so I could probably go even further with them if I needed to. Both cameras pick up motion well both day and night and the video quality is pretty good for being in saver mode. I still can’t believe they work so far away and it’s nice to have extra security on our acreage. Getting notifications that let me know whether it’s a person, vehicle, or just general motion makes a huge difference and cuts down on unnecessary alerts. The night vision is clearer, the live view loads faster, and overall the system just feels more advanced and reliable. Battery life has also been great so far. If you already have older Blink cameras and have been thinking about upgrading, I would highly recommend the Outdoor 4XR cameras. Definitely worth it for the added features and improved performance. ### ⭐ Do not buy because Blink will not send any replacement for defective cameras *by P***R on June 3, 2026* Over the past two weeks, I’ve been trying to get Blink to replace one defective camera from my 4‑camera system. One of the cameras cannot be found by the Sync Module XR, and the device label in the app shows the wrong ID. A Blink technician confirmed the issue and agreed the camera was defective. Blink told me twice that a replacement would be shipped “tomorrow,” but it has now been 13 days with no shipment. I called Blink again three days after the first call. They again promised a replacement “tomorrow,” but nothing happened. I also asked them to send me an email confirming our conversation so I would have documentation. They claimed they had already “sent” one, but nothing appeared in my Gmail inbox or spam folder. When I asked what email address they used, the technician read an address starting with “N…,” even though my email begins with “A…”. I had typed my correct email into their system, and they had my name and physical address correct, so the incorrect email was entirely on their end. The technician insisted I must have “told” them that email, which is impossible. Meanwhile, Blink trial‑plan emails were reaching my correct Gmail address, proving the system had my real email. After correcting the email address, the technician again promised shipping information “later that day.” Three more days passed with nothing except a generic “We appreciate your patience…” email. At that point — 12 days after the first replacement promise — I contacted Amazon. Their only solution was a full refund for the entire system. I explained that this was not equitable because I had already purchased accessories (batteries, micro‑SD cards, mounts) from multiple retailers, and I had already installed the cameras outdoors. Those costs exceed the price of the camera system itself, and the accessories cannot be used for anything else. Amazon insisted that “you can return them too,” even though they were purchased from different stores. They also claimed that even their “lead” would offer only a full refund. I suggested a reasonable alternative: send me another 4‑camera system, and I would return the set with a replacement of one good camera with the defective camera.
