Anyway anybody struggling with this stuff do some little practice runs, small stuff like a finger in a shot glass, before you use it all up. This sort of thing always takes a little practice to get right. Use the instructions provided and it's fine. This isn't silicone and so you'll only get one use from the moulding as it seems to need to be destroyed to recover the cast. That said, the nature of the product causes the moulding to shrink over time and so needs to be cast within about 20 minutes. So far it has made perfect casts in plaster, silicone and resin. It's really easy to use too! **Q: Hi, Can i use this for a mold to be filled with silicone?** A: No you can use this for anything, you will just waist your money, it’s impossible to mix properly and even if you do somehow miraculously manage to mix it, it will be too wet to put silicon in **Q: Would this product be suitable to pour polymer resin in for to mould with** A: Dear Colin, You can use resin in the alginate mould, but you can only use the alginate mould once. You need to break away the alginate mould from your resin cast - and you ideally need to do this within an hour or two of casting. Something to bear in mind as depending on the resin type, it can take some time for resins to set. Due to the natural properties of the alginate, the alginate mould starts to soon break down, releasing a lot of it’s water and becoming harder. I do hope this helps!
