The color is the only minor drawback. As we wanted the bulb to simulate a gas flame, we would have preferred a more white colored light - these are fairly orange in color. In my opinion you get what you pay for with these. They're the most realistic of all the LED flame simulation bulbs I've seen and I've researched a lot of them (and bought a couple of disappointing ones in the process). If you put this behind frosted glass to diffuse it a bit, or simply have it far enough away from the naked eye, people will seriously think it's a real gas flame that's exposed to a gentle breeze. They're pretty fun to watch. Not very bright but bright enough. We paired them with some Edison bulbs in the sconces on either side of the front door. Make sure you purchase the same color and they will match very well. They cast a warm glow...you can still see who is at the front door.
