I was using sorento collars which worked well until something I couldn't see or find was making my pups itch so I searched for something new. Nutri-vet Defense+ stopped the itching within a couple weeks. It was also put to a test this past weekend where we went camping and hiking - I pulled a dead tick off one of them, didn't even get the chance to break the skin. I believe this is a great product and will continue to use it as long as I have 4 legged family members. It is easily found on Amazon, comes in a variety of weight classes, and is surprisingly very affordable ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works if you use exactly as directed! Not the best product *by P***L on October 18, 2022* I like it for a basic general use if you just are not having your dog outside much . It does provide basic protection !But I do find an occasional flea or fleas on his hind quarters or near the top base of his tail & he gets a hot spot at the base of his tail (dry skin - from the fleas *My VET said* ) So The VET said it would be best for my dog to Change to a different type of ORAL Flea/Tick Control Medication which she can administer at a cheaper rate for me in her office !So we will do that . But This Flea & Tick Control has worked , last year it was great . Never found 1 flea on him . But this year it is different , his coat is longer and he has a undercoat , and then a longer coat near his neck , shoulders , and face , he is part German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd/Husky last year I Deshedded him to a Short Coat due to our heat wave in Southern Calif ! But this Summer wasn’t that bad . So he didn’t have a short Coat . It could be part of the reason too , The Fleas can hide better & Hang onto his Hair easier !One thing the VET said , when we bathe our Dogs it’s important to use (Dawn liquid dish soap ) which helps kill the fleas , and helps prevent them from clinging to the hair !Then it’s important to use a very good hair Conditioner, because it seals the hair cuticle, preventing An area along the hair shaft for the fleas to grab ahold of ( if the surface of the hair shaft is smooth it’s harder for the fleas to cling to it)!Also A great deterrent for fleas, spiders, bugs and creepy crawly bugs is Tea Tree Oil or Peppermint oil -Don’t put it on your dog; it’s to strong an ODOR an scent for your dog & cat ! It will overwhelm their olfactory senses‼️You can put a drop or two of the Pure Organic Tea Tree Oil Or Pure Organic Peppermint Oil in a quart of water & 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide & mix together . Then put into a spray bottle and spray their bedding and any of their items they wear or sweaters, Raincoats etc.. ( ie back packs, or a vest , orif you have a Service Dog You Can Spray both Sides if the Vest your Dog wears and let it sit for 30 mins . It won’t bother their fur or sling after that . Anywhere your pet sleeps or lays down in or at around your home , It is safe to spray this mixture ! It will help in conjunction with using this Flea & Tic Product !Just make sure to use the Product as it Says on the box ! It’s important for best results !!
