So my father falls asleep at a drop of a dime. Due to the fact that he has issues with his legs, he can sing to stay up long enough. So while he's in his recliner, he falls asleep all the time but this elliptical is automatic and it still moves on its own. It goes backwards and forward and also has a timer which goes to 20 minutes. I'm hoping that his legs get stronger. I've noticed that he does walk a little better. And it does have a remote and a power cord as well. There really was no assembly. Just basically taking it out the box. It's not that heavy and it's durable and steady.
