I checked other ac adapters and they were a lot more expensive, even the unknown brands. Initially, I was having trouble getting it to work, but later found out that it works perfectly if you let Windows 10 install the drivers through Windows Update; the drivers that come with the included CD are outdated and don’t work. Just plug it into the usb port and let windows install the drivers. After I got it working I found that this adapter is consistent and fast and I always get my top internet speed of 70Mb/s. If you use an N adapter you only get speeds up to 30Mb/s so I highly recommend this ac adapter. If you have a higher internet speed, this adapter will probably be able to reach that as well. Note that this adapter’s speed is also faster than if you are directly connected to your router via an ethernet cable; my top speed via the cable was 30Mb/s. The adapter is also well built and it doesn’t look like it will break. Experienced Linux users will be well versed in the procedure for acquiring drivers but new users will find it a challenge. Suffice to say if you are new to Linux, have a wired connection to the internet up and running. This is the easiest method to getting drivers for a wireless device. The chip set seems to vary according to when it was made and this information will be needed. I had to dig around to find out what mine was since it was not provided. Because of this I was a little too hasty buying a second adapter for an Ubuntu Linux PC. Had I stopped to read the small print I would perhaps have noticed the lack of any mention of Linux support.Anyhow, with a little googling I soon found a driver on github (cilynx/rtl88x2bu) which was fairly easy to install and (so far) is performing very well. However, based on forum comments, I may have to re-install every time my Linux kernel is updated.I've docked points for "Tech Support", as the website listed on the packaging, ourlink.us, goes to a GoDaddy domain parking page.
