Specifically selected because it has way more power output than needed so we're not overtaxing it and because it is switchable between 110 and 220. It is setup to run off of the welders dedicated 220 output plug for a cooler and works great. The pump and fans never sound like they are taxed due to low power input. The power supply runs cool and is SO QUITE. When checked with a multi meter voltage and current outputs are stable and consistent. Mine never stops!** A: As soon as your power supply is energized, the built-in fan will turn on to ensure stable voltage and current output for cooling. **Q: is there a user manual?** A: There a piece of paper that tells you what is what as far as the terminals and the voltage adjustment. I bought 2 of these and sent both back. If your wanting much more that 12.4 get something else. These won’t go past that. I needed 13.4 minimum for 2 way radio. **Q: Will it work for testing 12 volt electric motors? motors?** A: You can test anything that is 12 volt that requires less than 40 A **Q: I have a mobile cb radio i want to convert to a base home station. attached to it is an italy kl203. will this be sufficient to power both?** A: I really can't answer your question since I don't use a CB, I use it to power my HPA compressor and it does the job of providing 110v to the compressor.
