This one isn’t quite as strong so I use more of it, but that has advantages, too, because it comes in a large bottle with a nice eye-dropper-style dispenser, allowing you to get the perfect amount every time, versus the inconsistency of the “2-3 dash” method. This one goes really well with a richer syrup, such as Demerara or even 100% maple syrup. Garnish optional but it goes well with a slick of orange peel and/or a dark cherry. The label says it also goes well with dark rum or even an aged tequila. I haven’t tried those yet, but I like the idea, as old fashions have been around since before ice was readily available (a long time). It has a good chocolate flavor with some background complexity from the spices, not overwhelming. 4 stars because there is sediment in the bottle, which can give an unpleasant grittiness to the drink.
