Depending on your surround it might be possible to use thin battens nailed/screwed in place to hold it if no slots are there. At worst you could screw it to the back of the surround but you would need to drill oversize holes in the laminate and not tighten the screws more than absolutely necessary to hold it because it cracks easily. It may even be possible to use something like Gorilla Tape if the surround back is smooth and would hold the tape long term. Arrived slightly chipped so packaging could be improved. Not worth sending back or raising a complaint as it was larger than required and easily hidden behind the fireplace. Can be trimmed with a fine toothed saw according to the instruction sticker which the manufacturer recommends be kept. Would have been easier if it was a leaflet though.
