Unfortunately this happened with me and because I'm unable to find the tear I can't fix it. **Q: Is it hypoallergenic ?** A: no clue you would have to look at what it is made of **Q: How can I Wash? Isn't it too heavy for the washing machine? I want a 20 lbs** A: I have not washed my blanket yet although , I have read from other reviewers and online that I can wash it on gentle cycle. I plan on doing that and letting it air dry. **Q: Do these keep you warm or are they more for just a "feel" and nice cooling effect? Want one for winter 12 pound vs. 15?** A: I ordered the 15 lb blanket and it kept me warm but I found it too heavy to maneuver during the night. I could do it but it took more effort than I wanted lol. Next time I’d order the 12 lb one. I also believe other blankets could keep you warmer and this is more for the feel of it. I’ve been trying out different blankets and the weighted blanket ranks 6/10 for warmth and an 8/10 for the feeling of safety and being secure. Because it was heavy when taking out of the package i was worried about whether it would make the bed too hot or inhibit my movements, but sleeping under it is very comfortable the weight of the beads is just enough that it doesnt slip or slide off during the night and i wasnt overheated.
