**Q: We have a very limited space to install this (less than 4.5 inches width), so could we install it vertically?**
A: This unit is meant to be installed horizontally.    Please consult with your local USPS to inquire if it can be installed vertically.   We hope this information is helpful.   Thank you!

A: Hello, This key keeper is a USPS unit.  The USPS will install the lock for you, if you are not using this item for USPS use, you can purchase the 1080AP which includes the lock.  I hope this information was helpful.

**Q: Is there a version of this box with a micro-switch mounted internally to allow connecting to an electric door release?**
A: Not that I’m aware of

**Q: Is this item supposed to come with a locking mechanism?**
A: No.  This item comes with an opening that fits a standard lock provided by USPS that fits their key.  This is a free lock- contact you local post office and they will provide you with the number for their maintenance division.  Try to get specific requirements on where to mount the box though, as the person who came to install the lock made me move it because he said it was too low.
