I wear hearing aids so wearing in ear hearing protection would not work for me. Looking at all the available earmuff type hearing protection the 3M Optima III had the best rating. Unfortunately they are not available in North America. I believe they don’t meet the safety standards for working on a job site because they restrict your hearing too much. These muffs are perfect for me. I am retired and spend five hours a day in my woodwork shop running very load tools. Table saws, routers, jointers and thickness planers.
