But my original rear cover no longer fitted the new screens body :-( again something I though I would work with. But forget about your phone keeping it's splash /dust proof ip rating. I powered up the phone and instantly the colours were dull, again I thought to myself I can work with this.. its an old phone I just need it working. After powering on this is where it went to pot. The screen did not work at all, it didn't respond to touch, only the s pen worked and the screen had a mind of its own, doing whatever it wanted. Rendering the phone completely unuse able. After some research there's a feature of the phone that allows you yo upgrade the touch screens firmware aka TSP FW... the firmware on the new screen was very old, I pressed the upgrade button and it failed. I put the phone into safe mode then tried to upgrade and it still failed. Rendering the phone useless. I decided to buy a genuine screen, it was plug and play, firmwares were up to date and everything just fitted and worked perfectly.
