Review: Great product - crazy price! - On my last trip to England this past fall, I found this product along with the Easiyo yogurt maker and I was fascinated. At the time I thought it might be pricier than what I could get it for (what with the exchange rate) in the U.S. When I ordered the item from desertcart, I bought the whole kit with two packs of yogurt mix for a little over $30; now you can't get two packets of mix for less than that. I can't reconcile paying $15 for a quart of yogurt so I took the advice of others who have posted here and I use the yogurt maker without the mixes. Thankfully I'll be moving to England and can afford the mix because I really think that it works well. The particular product, the Plain Organic was very good. It has a nice thick consistancy and a lovely milky/sour taste. I also used the Greek mix but it didn't have any different consistancy than the plain organic. Which makes sense because Greek yogurt is strained and therefore renders a thicker product. So, I do recommend the mixes but of course the price point is not reasonable at all. I've been having fun using the different variations on recipe that others have posted here. My advice if you're going to make your own from scratch, is to really pay attention to the ingredients in the yogurt you buy for starter. Many companies use gums especially if you're going for low or non-fat and these will not set up well if at all. Organic yogurts are better but again, check out the ingredients. I've also found that the freeze-dried yogurt starter is a bit finicky - most often I come up with kefir using this product. Review: Order review - I love your products, and I also turned on my granddaughter to them and she loves them too. The only thing is I ordered a few Organic Yogurt's and they sent me low-fat Greek yogurt. I am not really interested in low-fat. This should be the good fat. I really missed trying the Organic. I try to purchase organic as much as I can. I really didn't send it back, but I wasn't really sure what all it involved.
