I install this outside on my ceiling over my porch so I could have an outside siren when my alarm would go off. I use it with a 120v to 12v power supply and have that plugged into a smart plug. I have it set up so when my alarm goes off it turns on the smart plug which turns on the siren/strobe. And boy is this siren loud! The plastic housing is pretty cheap and cracked a little while I was screwing it to the ceiling. Time will tell how long it last but it's fairly protected where it's at. Overall this was one of the cheapest siren/strobes I could find, I didn't want to spend a lot of money for something like this but it does what I need it to do. Pros: It was cheap Easy to wire up Has strobe and siren Cons: It's cheap (cracked while mounting it) Not weatherproof Review: Noisy for sure - I got this buzzer to wire into a "fire alarm pull switch" which I installed in my son's outdoor playhouse. Incredible , but any ideas ?** A: The long the wire (extension), the more voltage drop-off you will have. Get it too long and there isn't enough voltage at the end of the wire meeting the device. **Q: What I s it that I can I use to power it** A: You can use any 12 Volt DC only power source such as a 12 Volt battery or a 12 Volt DC power supply. It works well, and even outside it can be heard even across the street ! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ DO NOT DROP !!! *by J***E on July 22, 2022* Simple to use, loud enough for indoor and close proximity outdoor use. LEDs are bright enough for indoor or outdoor at dusk or darker. Using 9 volt degrades the volume of the siren, but I found some lithium 12 volt batteries that will fit into the device with a little modding. Just don't drop them onto a tile floor (personally found out, oops.).
